Second Generation PTSD

The stories of Catskill Veterans Outreach Center are similar to those I’ve experienced myself in my life.

Meet Jeff

Jeff, once homeless and desperate, now works for the two centers associated with this organization. He shuttles back and forth between Utica NY and Stamford NY. He believes the outreach center saved his life and gave him the will to live when he was in a dark place.

PTSD is contagious!

Jeff is the son of a Vietnam Veteran who suffered with undiagnosed PTSD. Living in a family with someone that suffers is just as bad as having the disorder yourself. Jeff, a veteran himself, suffers second generation PTSD and he describes what it’s like to live in that environment in these two short clips. Our conversation went on for hours.
