Kingston

Easter Sunday

On a day of enlightenment and hope and a day of sadness and grief I continue my journey. Today I spent the day walking towards my goal.

Leaving Rt 9 on the east side of the Hudson to Rt 9W on the west side I entered the historic City of Kingston. Kingston was the first Capital of New York State until it was burned by the British. The resilience of the colonists moved slightly up river to Albany.

I’m posting from the old part of the city the historic “Stockade District”.
